Arrival Leh

  • Altitude:- 3,500 m/ 11,500 ft.
  • Check in at the hotel.
  • Trek briefing (compulsory) at 5 pm.
  • Carry a copy of your ID proof and 2 photographs of a foreigner, a copy of passport and visa.
  • Network is provided (only post-paid).

Kang Yatse 1 & 2 Twin Peak

Kang Yatse I Peak Expedition starts at Leh. Get to Leh by plane or train. You will be staying in the hotel on arrival. Leh is already 11,500 ft high, so you have to acclimatized fairly well. Take this day and relax and accustom your body to the high altitudes.

In Leh, there is good phone connectivity. On this day you can shop for any forgotten items or rent equipment. Alcohol and smoking should be avoided strictly. In case you come late you may sleep during the day. You are also able to walk around and acclimatize to the culture. Leh is very famous in terms of cultural treasures, monasteries, palaces and temples. Attempt to maintain it low and light on the body.

Eligibility for Kang Yatse 1 & 2 Twin Peak Expedition

  • Age Requirement:- 18 years or more.
  • Two trek experiences of high altitude (4,500m-5,000m) are needed. Novices are not encouraged to undertake this adventure.
Twin Peak Expedition

1. Fitness Criteria

  • The trekker must have enough stamina to complete 6 km distance by jogging in 30 minutes without stress or 10 km distance in 60 minutes without stress.
  • In case the trekker would like to ride he/she must be in a position to cover 25km distance in 65 minutes of time.

Trekkers should also have the capacity to carry a 10-15kg backpack since off-load is not advisable

2. Health and Awareness

  • Resting pulse rate should be moderate (60-100 beats per minute).
  • Blood Pressure Reading should be between (DIASTOLIC 75 -85, SYSTOLIC 100-130 mm Hg).
  • At rest, respiratory rate should be intermediate (12-20 breaths per minute).
  • Should not be Liver and kidney problems.
  • Should not be having Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.
  • No pacemaker implant.

The most convenient and preferable mode of transport is to fly to Kushok Bakula Rimpochi Airport in Leh. It is only 4km distant to the main city. The airport is also well linked with Delhi as well as it gets flights with Mumbai, Srinagar, Jammu and Chandigarh and other general destinations within India.

Direct flights to the major cities such as Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi are also accessible to even international travelers. Taxis are available outside the airport or you can book a taxi to get to the destination. Leh has two Road Routes

  • Leh is not directly connected to the train since there is no train station in Ladakh. The closest railroad station is Jammu Tawi (700 km to Ladakh) that has good connectivity to Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
